Level 3 Licence in Coaching Football (UEFA B Licence)

1st4sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football commonly known as the ‘UEFA B Licence’, this qualification provides an opportunity for you to advance your practical team coaching skills. On completion you will be qualified to coach skills and techniques of football to both adults and children.

Who should enrol?
Before applying candidates will have passed the Level 2 Certificate and ideally had at least 12 months practical coaching experience. Candidates will also hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate (formerly known as Child Protection) and a HSE approved Emergency or First Aid certificate. It is strongly recommend that candidates possess a reasonable level of personal fitness as there is a considerable amount of physical activity.

What will I learn?
On successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football, candidates should be able to:

deliver coaching sessions encompassing functional practices, phases of play and 8v8 small sided games
establish potential performance benchmarks/indicators
establish players’ current and potential performance needs
establish and agree goals with the players and others
design a football coaching programme that meets the identified needs of the team and players
plan a detailed training cycle or phase associated with an aspect of the football coaching programme
plan an evaluation schedule for the football coaching programme
establish and maintain a safe coaching environment for players and others
establish and maintain supportive working relationships with players and others
manage players’ and others’ behaviour to ensure a safe and effective football coaching environment
prepare players and others for the coaching programme
deliver a football coaching programme
develop players’ performance within the coaching programme
monitor and evaluate players’ performance and development
monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the coaching programme
monitor, evaluate and develop personal coaching practice
monitor, review and support the development of the coaching practice of others

How long will it take?
The course starts with 6 evenings and 5 full days of initial training. You are then required to complete 16 hours of practical coaching to be recorded in a log book, and attend 2 further training continuation days, before completing the final assessment weekend approximately 6-8 months after the initial training.
