MICHAEL OLIVER FIFA REFEREE PROMOTION
Northumberland FA are delighted to announce that 26 year old Michael Oliver who hails for Cramlington has been promoted to the FIFA Referees list for 2012.
He was nominated by the FA Referees Committee a few monthS ago and his promotion was ratified by FIFA just prior to Christmas.
This is yet another successful step in Michael's career which started in the Coasts Colts League and progressed very quickly through the Morpeth Sunday League, Northern League, Conference Premier, Football League and finally onto the Premier League referees list last year.
Having made a very successful start to top flight refereeing he has also been involved as an additional assistant referee in Champions League matches but will now begin to referee matches around the world.
It is great to see “one of our own” being as successful. Our warmest congratulations go to him on this fantastic achievement.
