Lowick Utd secure Community Club status!

8:54 AM, Tuesday, 23 June 09. Charter Standard Clubs

Lowick United have become Northumberland FA's 8th Charter Standard Community Club.

Northumberland FA are pleased to announce that Lowick United have become the County's 8th Charter Standard Community Club and with it the F.A.'s most northerly based Community Club!!

This follows several months of hard work from the club, particularly those working behind the scenes ensuring that the criteria for Commmunty Club Status was met. Aligning the adult male and female sides to the junior set up has taken time but already the club are reaping the benefits.......

Bill Blyth, the club's Charter Standard Co-ordinator commented;

"Everybody at Lowick FC is very proud of what we have achieved so far. We haven't allowed our rural location to prevent us from being a successful club and playing an important role in our local community. We want to be a club for life for our members and it's encouraging to reach another marker in achieving that goal."

Mark Woodhall, Northumberland FA's Football Development Officer added "I'm delighted that Lowick United FC have been awarded Community Club status. This is the culmination of a great deal of hard work by everyone at the club. Achieving this award is the pinnacle of football development for football clubs and shows the commitment that those involved have, not only for developing players, but for the community as a whole."

Congratulations to all involved with the club from Northumberland FA's Football Development Team.
