Be on the ball - Info for Under 18's

9:57 AM, Thursday, 04 March 10. Respect

Football is about having fun, being with friends, making new ones, playing games, trying new skills and being part of a team, if you want. It should be fun to do all of these things - having fun is what is important.

Sometimes adults get it wrong and do things which hurt, frighten or worry children. It doesn't happen often in football, but it does happen.

If a child is worried about the way an adult is behaving towards them, they feel threatened or frightened it's important they know who to tell and how to get help. What they are experiencing might be child abuse.

Have a look at the new webpage's giving advice to under 18's involved in grass roots football.-

NOTE

A very small number of people get into football for the wrong reason. All Clubs affiliated to Northumberland F.A now have policies in place to protect children & young people in their care.
This will involve an interview with club officials, references and a new FA enhanced CRB check.
