Who should enrol?
Anybody over 16 years of age with regular practical experience of participation in football, who is looking for an introduction to the vocational area of coaching Association Football.
What are the entry requirements?
Candidates are required to have an interest in developing the skills of young people.
What will I learn?
How to:
- safely organise and supervise football activities including Mini Soccer, Small Sided and Conditional Games
- promote and establish working relationships and high standards between players, coaches, parents and officials
- understand different aspects of coaching children
- identify and adapt football activities and sessions for a variety of different age groups
- identify personal development opportunities in football including sports therapy, administration and officiating.
How is the qualification assessed?
Candidates will also be assessed by an external examiner on their delivery of a 20 minute practical coaching session on a topic chosen by the examiner from the Level 1 Football Practical Syllabus. Candidates will also be required to complete a number of theory tasks relating to the course units.
What is the duration of the qualification?
This qualification is structured over a period of 30 hours, usually spread over evening sessions or weekends.
Information: Course Fees must be paid up front. If you are having your course paid for by a Charter Standard Club, a signed letter on headed notepaper confirming payment must be submitted with your application. These will only be accepted from Charter Standard clubs already registered for invoicing.

****Northumberland FA Coach Education Cancellation/Refund Policy****
If you wish to cancel your attendance on your chosen course, you should inform the Northumberland FA immediately. All of our courses are in high demand, and by not advising us you are subsequently preventing another candidate attending.
If you cancel 2 weeks prior to the course commencement, a full refund will be issued. However, if you cancel after the 2 week deadline, no refund will be given. Consideration will be given to candidates who, for health reasons are unable to attend and require a transfer to an alternative course. A letter from a Doctor or Medical Professional must be supplied.
If you wish to transfer to another course once your application has been submitted, there will be an administration fee of £10.00.
Candidates paying with a debit/credit card will be liable to a handling fee, when a refund or transfer is requested.
