Northumberland County FA is seeking to appoint Referee Development Centre of Excellence (RDCoE) Coaches to support the development of the RDCoE for the 2017– 2018 season.

The RDCoE Coach position(s) reports directly to the RDCoE Director and is responsible for the development of either:

1) Level 4 referees and of those referees who have applied for promotion from Level 5 to Level 4
2) Level 5 referees and of those referees who have applied for promotion from Level 6 to Level 5
3) Level 6 referees and of those referees who have applied for promotion from Level 7 to Level 6

Essential Requirements

•    Achieved satisfactory Level in accordance to the appropriate Coach position (see above)
•    Credibility as a Match Official
•    Ability to plan, organise and assist with the delivery of key events for RDCoE Match Officials
•    Available if required to travel to occasional matches on Saturday/Sunday /midweek evenings
•    Able to communicate effectively

Desirable Requirements

•    Level 1 Tutor, who has regularly attended Continued Professional Development days, or an equivalent qualification
•    Experience of Supply League and/or Contributory League football or higher as an assistant Referee or Referee
•    FA qualified assessor, FA qualified mentor, FA qualified referee Coach

Key Responsibilities

•    Review the self-assessments sent by each RDCoE referee and provide further feedback as required.
•    Review match official’s performance in collaboration with the RDCoE Director.
•    Arrange events for RDCoE Officials to update the referees on the expectations of the leagues, clubs and Northumberland FA.
•    Regularly update the RDCoE Director of referees suitable for advancement into the promotion scheme
•    Encourage the RDCoE Officials to attend both RA society meeting and Northumberland FA delivered IST events.
•    Provide advice to all members of the RDCoE regarding lifestyle matters such as fitness and nutrition.
•    Co-operate with the RDCoE Director to help deliver in service training events for all RDCoE Referees.
•    Attend meetings of the Referee Development Working Groups when required.
•    Advise the RDCoE Director of Officials who should be removed from the RDCoE scheme for reasons of performance or attitude, including items covered in the RDCoE Agreements and assist with the disciplinary procedures.
•    Provide monitoring and evaluation information as agreed with the RDCoE
•    The role will require an individual who has excellent administration skills, experience of working as part of a team to achieve success and the ability to work flexibly and remotely.

Further Information

•    Due to the nature of the role, a current FA CRB and FA Safeguarding Children qualification will be required. Due to some duties of the role, confidentiality of correspondence between RDCoE Director, RDCoE Officials, the RDO and anything that falls under the RDCoE structure remit, it is imperative that a confidentiality agreement will be agreed to and signed prior to commencing the role. For these reasons, a Code of Conduct shall be signed and adhered to.
•    An honorarium payment shall be made to the successful candidate, with agreed payments made accordingly. Although it is anticipated to be an on-going role, the initial appointment will be until the 2018 season.
•    The RDCoE Coach will report directly to the RDCoE Director and be an integral part of the Referee Development Team.
