Richard Clark joins Northumberland FA in Ambassador Role

Northumberland FA is pleased to announce that affiliated Level 1 referee, Richard Clark, has joined the referee department in an ambassador role.

Richard will offer support across referee education, NFA Core, L3/4 support and deliver on development seminars throughout the season.

After a knee injury putting a stop to his career as an official, the former Football League referee has also opted to offer his expertise in an observatory role within the FA alongside his new role at the Northumberland FA.

“Richard’s involvement with Northumberland FA’s referee department will be a great opportunity for referees at all levels to learn and develop,” said Referee Development Officer, Andrew Smith.

“I couldn’t be happier to have Richard involved in Northumberland FA across a number of programmes we currently have in place.

“Richard will support the county CORE group and coaches within this group, he will also support and deliver on a number of sessions across the season and will lead on the newly created level 3 and 4 development group which provides specific support to those at level 3 and 4.”

If you are interested in getting into officiating the first step is to take our basic referees course. You will be supported with a variety of opportunities to progress with the many events and seminars we hold during the season – for more information please contact Andrew.Smith@northumberlandfa.com or call 0191 2700 700 (option 2 - option 3).
