NFA Youth Council

Northumberland FA is delighted to announce that we will be launching the NFA Youth Council in 2017.

The NFA Youth Council will provide young people involved in grassroots football within the county with a voice to support development in the following areas:

•    Aid transition of youth players to adult football
•    Increase participation of young players across playing, coaching, refereeing and volunteering.
•    Represent children and young people participating in football

The Youth Council’s vision is:

‘Engage, Inspire, Sustain’

The NFA Youth Council with work collaboratively with the Football Development and Operations staff, NFA Board and Council, Referee Council and Inclusion Advisory Group.

The newly appointed team of young people will aim to build successful foundations, and a legacy which others can follow in the coming years; driving the development of a number of projects.

The newly formed structure and roles reflect the priorities of the group moving forwards. The Northumberland FA Youth Council will contribute towards the Northumberland FA business plan by creating innovative ideas around how to achieve these long-term objectives.

The Youth Council is looking for potential members aged 16-24 across the county, to represent children and young people and help shape and develop youth football.

Successful Candidates will be expected to attend monthly Youth Council meetings throughout the year. Meetings will be held at Northumberland FA, Whitley Park, Whitley Rd, Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne NE12 9FA. The first meeting will be held in January 2017.

The roles that will make up the team are:

•    Head of Communications
•    Head of Inclusion
•    Head of Events
•    Project Officer x6
