CEO Column: Girls' Football Week Returns!

One of the most exciting events in the grassroots football calendar returns this Sunday.
That’s right; it’s the return of FA Girls Football Week – a national initiative aimed at encouraging more girls to start playing the game up and down the country.

This year’s events have been extended to run alongside the Lionesses’ involvement in UEFA Women’s Euro 2017, which I believe is a great idea and one which will hopefully inspire others to start playing themselves.

Providing young girls with football opportunities is a key focus for us at Northumberland FA, and I know that plenty have been taking part in the excellent SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Clubs which run weekly throughout the summer.

Young girls in Northumberland look forward to Girls’ Football Week every year which is why it’s important to provide them with as many opportunities to play as possible.

Anyone can register a Girls’ Football Week event – whether it’s an ongoing session or something completely brand-new –all you have to do it complete the registration form below.
