Funded by the Football Foundation and North Tyneside Council, with contributions from Northumberland FA, The FA and Rugby Football League, the former St Peter’s Playing Fields has been reimagined into a multi-million-pound sports complex. The 6.8-hectare site boasts:

• A modern pavilion featuring changing rooms, a multi-use community space, and a refreshment area.
• A floodlit supersize 3G football pitch, designed to support play in all weather conditions.
• Enhanced fencing and ample car parking to ensure safety and accessibility.

St Peter’s Sports Hub isn’t just a facility; it’s a community cornerstone. Operated by Northumberland FA as its new headquarters, it will cater to diverse needs, from developing young talent to fostering inclusion and diversity in sports.

Northumberland FA’s Grassroots Strategy 2024-2028 outlines our ambitious goals for the future of St Peter’s Sports Hub:

• Participation: We aim to welcome 100,000 users by 2028, making this a vibrant hub for sports and recreation.
• Safeguarding: As a best-practice example, the hub will ensure a safe and positive environment for all.
• Football Development: The hub expands our capacity to deliver direct football opportunities, nurturing the next generation of players, coaches, and volunteers.
• Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: We will provide access to groups and projects aligned with our values.
• Community Investment: By reinvesting 5% of annual profits into local clubs and projects within a 5-mile radius, we’ll ensure the hub’s benefits are felt widely.
• Service Excellence: Delivering a consistently excellent customer experience, aiming for a satisfaction rating of no less than 9/10.
