Northumberland FA wish to state their position in relation to the ongoing concerns with youth football in the county at present.

Northumberland FA is aware of the structural changes that have taken place recently at the Northumberland Junior Football League Ltd and the circumstances that surround the changes. We are also aware of the subsequent concerns of member clubs.  

Northumberland FA has an obligation, as the governing body for football in Northumberland, to ensure that youth players have an opportunity to take part in the game in a safe environment. If we feel the experience of participants is at risk of being compromised we have an obligation to intervene and act within powers provided to the Association by the rules of The Football Association. 

At present we do not feel that the experience of participants is compromised and therefore will keep the situation under observation.

Northumberland FA wish to remind members that it is not within our jurisdiction to intervene with the internal structure of another limited company or charity and matters of this nature are governed by company and charity law. Therefore, members should raise their concerns internally under the guiding principles set out in law.
