CEO Column: Fantastic Coach Education Opportunities Available

Thank you as ever for taking the time to join me here on NorthumberlandFA.com for the latest edition of my weekly column.

Here at Northumberland FA we strive to create opportunities for everybody involved with grassroots football in our county – and that includes our thriving coaching community.

In this week’s column I’d like to talk through our coach education offering, to help ensure that nobody misses out on an opportunity that’s right for them.

The starting point for any coach wishing to gain their qualifications is the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football, which we run at Goals Newcastle, Kenton School and Prudhoe Community High School throughout the year. Once completed, coaches can move onto the FA Level 2 in Coaching Football – a course which is made up of 20 guided learning, face-to-face workshops covering a range of topics linked to the England DNA. The feedback we receive from learners on these two courses is always overwhelmingly positive, and we tend to see spaces taken up very quickly when they become available – so please do follow the links above and secure your place before it’s too late.

Once all three blocks of the Level 2 have been completed, coaches can continue to climb the FA Coaching Pathway by completing the FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football, which focuses on a range of complex decision-making scenarios. This course demands a lot from leaners, but we ensure that there’s support available throughout the entire process to help coaches meet those demands.

Further to that, we also offer several safeguarding, first-aid, Futsal and disability-based courses – with further information about each accessible via the links below. Should you wish to discuss our coach education programme further, please email CoachEducation@NorthumberlandFA.com or call 0191 2700 700.
