We’re pleased to announce that Ray Johnstone will take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer with immediate effect. Ray has been carrying out the Deputy DSO role since he joined Northumberland FA in June. Ray should be the first point of contact for any safeguarding inquiries or concerns. He can be contacted on:

Angie Forster takes on a wider remit under the new title of Head of Compliance, Inclusion and Safeguarding. This will include heading up County FA’s work around inclusion, working closely with our Inclusion Advisory Group and across the footballing landscape within Northumberland to ensure our local game is truly for all.

 And we are delighted to welcome Matt Sowerby to the role of Referee Development Officer. Matt has a wide background in football and has  recently worked as a PE coach within a school.

 He is an Assistant Referee for the National League and began his match official career at the age of 15.
