Northumberland FA is delighted to extend its successful relationship with Grounds Maintenance Specialists Ltd, which will see the Cramlington-based company become a Gold Partner, supporting our Female Football Pathway.

The agreement will see GMS support our Lionesses Coaching Programme, our women’s recreational leagues and walking football festivals, our planned female only referee courses and our hugely popular summer festivals. This year they included a two day 3v3 event for our younger players, who got the opportunity to meet players from the NUFC Women’s team.

GMS will also sponsor all our Girls Cups, alongside their existing support of our U12 Cup and Trophy and our ever popular Sunday Cup.

Lloyd Miller, NFA Women and Girls Football Development Officer said: “With the success of the Lionesses this summer, we are seeing increasing numbers of women and girls who want to join in the game. Through our programmes we try to provide something for players of all ages and abilities – whether it’s youngsters just starting out or older players who want to return to the game in a non-competitive manner.

“We’re thrilled that GMS are supporting such an important part of football and we hope that with their help we will encourage even more female players to get their boots on.”

Women and girls football is currently enjoying a surge in popularity which is absolutely great for our local game.”

GMS are specialists in grass cutting and sports pitch maintenance and are Northumberland FA’s preferred supplier, maintaining pitches for many of our affiliated clubs across the area.
