Northumberland FA have signed a new Senior Cup sponsor for the coming season – as it celebrates a historical milestone.

Newcastle Flooring Company Ltd will take over the naming rights of the prestigious competition, which will be knows as the Newcastle Flooring Senior Cup, in it’s 140^th year.

This year’s competition welcomes 14 teams, with last year’s winners Morpeth Town AFC and finalists Blyth Spartans getting a bye into the quarter finals. The remaining 12 teams will play their first round fixtures over the next few weeks.

Newcastle Flooring’s Managing Director Joseph Buzzeo said: “We’re delighted to be supporting grassroots football through our sponsorship of the Senior Cup. We’re a family firm and we have our roots firmly in the local football community.”

Northumberland FA Chief Executive Andrew Rose-Cook added: “It’s a key year for the Senior Cup and we’re delighted to welcome Newcastle Flooring on board. Last season we gave away hundreds of free tickets to local children for our Senior Cup Final at St James’ Park and we’re looking forward to doing this again thanks to Newcastle Flooring’s support.”
